I am coordinating the newly developed EnergySmart research project at MEFL, on behalf of the Department of Health and Human Services. The project researches ways to reduce energy bills and improve tenant comfort by installing energy efficient appliances and completing building upgrades in Victoria Public Housing facilities. The project involves upgrading 1,500 low rise public housing facilities by making one of three changes:
- Hot water system upgrade
- Changing the heater for a reverse-cycle heater
- Tailored thermal upgrades, without changing any appliances.
Before joining the team at MEFL, I was working as the Sustainability Coordinator for one of Australia’s leading wholesale warehouse distribution companies in Sydney. In this role I assisted in the development and implementation of strategic projects covering corporate social responsibility, resource efficiency and energy management. A very diverse, challenging yet fulfilling role that always kept me on my toes.
The three words that best describe me… would be passionate, enthusiastic and (always) optimistic.
When I’m not working I am usually… at the beach or trying to find hidden gems in the local markets.
I love working at MEFL because… we are a team of like-minded optimistic people working together to achieve positive social and environmental change and having fun while doing it!
