Electricity demand response trial

Want the chance to cut your energy bills this summer and score a free air-conditioning smart device worth $159? From now until 31 March 2019, Zen Ecosystems are running an exciting new demand response product trial in Victoria – and you can be a part of it.

What’s the trial about?

On extreme summer days, when temperatures climb, more and more Australians with air-conditioning units have them running high. This can increase your electricity usage by up to three times more than usual. This is known as peak demand.

Demand response provides people with the opportunity to take control of their energy use; helping to lower their energy usage and bills, as well as reduce or shift demand on the network at peak times.

Sponsored by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), this trial run by Zen, will see eligible Victorian households and businesses take part in a range of ‘energy saving challenges’ over the Summer 2018/19 period; using an app, air conditioning smart device and electricity meter data, to monitor and reduce their energy use during peak ‘event’ times. Further details about the trial can be found on ARENA’s website.

Please note that MEFL has not undertaken any due diligence of the Zen products and services.  We encourage you to carry out your own due diligence on the trial and Zen products and services, to ensure you are informed and comfortable in participating.

To be eligible you need to:
