Hi Richard
What type of insulation were you interested in? Is it wall, underfloor or ceiling insulation?
The kind of house (weatherboard, brick veneer etc.) also makes a difference to the kind of insulation solution available.
If you're looking at ceiling insulation alone, hardware stores sell a lot of ceiling insulation that you can DIY.
We also have some fact sheets on our website and there's a heap on information on the Your Home website pages ( www.yourhome.gov.au/technical/fs47.html and www.yourhome.gov.au/technical/fs48.html) that might help you with choice of insulation and installation issues.

Rose Read created a new topic new energy portal in the forum.
I've recently signed on to a new online energy portal which is going to be rolled out across parts of Melbourne. It's great to be able to see my hourly, daily usage and how much my solar panels are generating - what a difference between summer and autumn! Best part was finding out when everyone shut down over night and discovering my son switched off the computer and games between 4-5am. It was a weekend... all is forgiven.
