The MEFL Green Team aims to model environmental best practice wherever we can. We are planning to be carbon neutral by 2011.
We're always on the lookout for ways to reduce energy use and waste within the organisation.
Amongst our initiatives around the office are:
- Computers set for double sided printing as default
- Cutting back unnecessary lighting in the office (by removing bulbs!)
- Compost for office food waste
- Internal bike parking
- Easy switch-off options for computers
- Green purchasing and green events policies
- Regular lighting, waste, and travel surveys.
The MEFL Environmental Improvement Plan was prepared in December 2009 to measure our own carbon footprint and provide a starting-point for improvements.
The Plan analysed our energy use, transport, waste, paper and purchasing.
