Traditional Owners

Moreland Energy Foundation acknowledges the Woi wurring people as the traditional owners of the region now covered by the City of Moreland.

Moreland aims to take a strong leadership role in reducing community greenhouse gas emissions and has committed to a target of zero net emissions by 2030.

Moreland Energy Foundation, in partnership with the Australian Government and Moreland City Council have launched the Zero Carbon Moreland campaign. This project aims to assist households, businesses and community groups in reaching this target. As part of the Moreland Solar City project, Zero Carbon Moreland aims to recruit 5000 households, 500 businesses and 50 community organisations by 2011 in a campaign to reduce their carbon emissions by 20%.

To achieve this target we need the whole Moreland Community to get involved! We continue to seek Moreland community leaders who would like to take a stand and inspire others to also take action to reduce their emissions.
