Our work is about reducing emissions in the Moreland community. We achieve this through a number of constantly evolving projects, including community outreach, research and our lead campaign - Zero Carbon Moreland.

MEFL's strong skills and experience in various aspects of sustainability and community action enable it to offer a broad range of consultancy services to government and private organisations.

Advice

Moreland Energy Foundation provide free independent sustainability advice for your home or business. We are experts in the field of sustainability and energy issues in Moreland, with a number of technical experts on staff.

Training

We are also a leading training organisation in energy efficiency. We offer specialist courses to business, local government and community stakeholders. Our expert trainers draw on our extensive experience in delivering residential, industry and business projects. MEFL has developed a strong local presence and established ourselves as an informed, credible and reliable source of sustainable energy knowledge, experience and advice.

Research

Our research program is the source of MEFL’s vision for achieving sustainable communities, municipalities and cities. Our research builds on our reputation as a trusted source of knowledge on sustainable building design, decentralised energy and urban development. Current research inclues working in conjunction with state and federal governments, as well as collaborating with other like-minded organisations.

Community action

MEFL aims to be influential in the community and provide leadership in Moreland's crucial transition to a sustainable energy future. We were established with the purpose of initiating local action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the Moreland community. We have worked with thousands of local households, key community groups and a range of businesses in Moreland to increase their energy efficiency. In addition MEFL has developed effective information resources and practical ways to reduce emissions that are now used by communities across Australia.

Past achievments

MEFL has worked in partnership with a diverse range of organisations from local governments, environment and social justice groups, universities and industry associations. We have played a lead role in developing and delivering a range of diverse flagship programs such as Kinda Cooling, Business Energy Action Services and Community Power. We have also hosted hundreds of events, workshops and training programs focused on sustainable energy solutions.
