Renovators Service Consultation – Free for Moreland Residents

A one-hour consultation is free for Moreland residents. This service is also available to residents outside the Moreland area on a fee-for-service basis. Renovator consultations are held in MEFL's Brunswick office: Level 1, 233 Sydney Road. Call MEFL to book on (03) 9385 8585.

Our Home Renovators Service is happy to discuss your plans, whatever stage you are at. A Renovator's Story: Michelle

Michelle recently came to the Home Renovators Service to discuss a planned extension to her home. She already had a good understanding of sustainable design, but appreciated the opportunity to have a fresh set of eyes

look over her designs. After discussing the location of her house and the nearby buildings, we felt she did not have enough sunlight to use to heat her home, so we focused instead on making sure to put in a sturdy thermal barrier around the main living spaces to protect against temperature extremes outside. Suspended timber floors with insulation and a balanced amount of glazing onto the backyard will go a long way towards making her extensions a pleasant place to be year round.

Michelle is looking to use this opportunity to improve comfort in the existing parts of the house as well. She is planning to cut down on unnecessary circulation in the floor and bulk up insulation in the roof. We're looking forward to hearing back from her when the renovations are complete!
