Sign up to GreenPower this World Environment Day
May 28, 2008
To celebrate World Environment Day, the Moreland Energy Foundation supported by Moreland City Council, is hosting street performers and giving away prizes for residents who put their name down for Community Power.
Community Power, an initiative of the Moreland Energy Foundation and Darebin City Council, has formed a new partnership with Origin - Australia's number one green energy provider. Our aim is to increase the uptake of GreenPower by encouraging the residents and businesses of Moreland and Darebin to make the switch.
"GreenPower electricity is something every household and business can use," Moreland City Mayor Joe Caputo JP said. "Climate change concerns everyone."
Over 7200 households in Moreland already use GreenPower electricity.
"We want Moreland to have the lowest greenhouse emissions in the State, so on Thursday, June 5, we're giving residents the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint.
"World Environment Day is a great reminder of how important it is for us to do anything we can for the environment," he said.
To put your name down for Origin GreenPower or find out more, drop by the World Environment Day celebrations at the Vic Mall, Coburg, 11.30 to 2.30 pm, 5 June.
