Community Power and Origin Energy launch a new partnership
April 02, 2008
Community Power is pleased to announce it's new relationship with Origin Energy.
Community Power aims to reduce community greenhouse emissions by increasing the uptake of GreenPower and promoting energy conservation. The program is run in partnership between Darebin City Council and the Moreland Energy Foundation Ltd.
"Buying GreenPower is one of the simplest and most effective actions households and businesses can take to reduce their greenhouse emissions." Paul Murfitt, Moreland Energy Foundation CEO said.
"That's why we support Community Power and are encouraging our residents and small businesses to sign up to GreenPower with Origin."
GreenPower is accredited renewable energy sourced from approved renewable generators such as solar, wind and small scale hydro.
Community Power went through a competitive process open to all energy retailers licensed to sell electricity in Victoria, considered their proposed GreenPower products, and selected Origin as our new partner.
When you sign-up to an Origin GreenPower product endorsed by Community Power, you are joining with other local households and businesses to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. You will also be eligible to receive Community Power's quarterly newsletter and to access our free energy management programs.
To switch to Origin GreenPower today, call Origin on the dedicated Community Power hotline: 1300 138 149.
