Walk Against Warming a great success
November 13, 2007
November 11th saw people from all over Moreland come together to show their support for action on climate change by joining the Walk Against Warming.
Moreland residents met in their local areas to travel in to the Walk together. Then people boarded public transport or hopped on their bikes to travel as a community to the Walk.
Moreland residents joined with up to 50,000 other walkers to send a message to our politicians demanding action on climate change.
The unprecedented support for Walk Against Warming makes it a landmark event but it also marks a watershed for the environmental movement in Moreland. While every group walked under their own banner they walked as one cohesive group. This highlighted the volume of environmental action already happening in Moreland and provides a footpath for future joint actions.
Thanks to all the groups and people who came together to make this event such a success.
