ZCM Social now online

Your new, local social networking website, ZCM Social is now online. (Link opens in new window).

You can "click and pledge" easy carbon-reduction actions, get local advice, chat to other members, find local ZCM businesses, create events, and more... There's already conversations happening about the cost effectiveness of solar hot water, exterior blinds improving comfort, and calculating flight emissions. Coburg and Brunswick are way ahead on the Moreland action tally so if you live in Fawkner, Glenrory, Oak Park, Gowanbrae, Pascoe Vale or Hadfield join now and get pledging!

Features on ZCM Social include:

  • Actions: From quick and easy (wash clothes in cold water) to more ambitious (install solar panels) there’s a range of actions you can “click and pledge”. Inspire others by telling us what sustainability actions you’ve done and what you intend to do in the future. Your actions go straight on to your profile and count towards your suburb’s action tally. See how you, your friends and your locality are going in the Sustainability Stakes!
  • Forum: Get local advice, start conversations, form groups, it’s up to you...
  • Mapping: Spot other ZCM participants, chat to them online and form groups with your newly found neighbours. The map also shows the exact locations of participating ZCM businesses – handy for carbon conscious shoppers!
  • Events: Organise and promote events via the website. It’s easy to create an event and invite others – the event also appears automatically on the map.
  • Carbon Calculator: Take your actions to the next level and find out your household’s carbon footprint with our online calculator. Once you know what your carbon emissions are, you can create an Action Plan to reduce them.

At MEFL we’ve always been about community action on climate change. ZCM Social gives the Moreland community a new way to get together, collaborate, share information and take effective action to reduce carbon emissions.
