5-Star Energy Rating for all new homes
MEFL has a 5-Star Energy Ratings service and can rate your new homes and renovations for a reasonable fee.
Moreland Energy Foundation offers an energy rating service for houses and multi-unit developments.
New legislation now requires all owners/developers of new houses and units to submit an accredited energy rating of four or five stars as part of the building permit application. Ratings are calculated using FirstRate, a powerful piece of software which rates building designs (and actual buildings) on the amount of energy they are predicted to use in mechanical heating and cooling. The software will also make recommendations for changes that will improve ratings e.g. increasing insulation, adding double glazing.
Moreland Energy Foundation has an accredited energy rater on staff. We can rate plans at any stage of the design or renovation process. We recommend a preliminary rating at the early design stage, followed up with a full rating at permit stage.
