Member Elected Director's Report

Hello MEFL Members and potential members!

Jeremy Romanes here, your Member Elected Director on the Board of MEFL.
If you're a regular reader of MEFL news you'll be aware of the great work we're doing throughout Moreland. 2009 promises to be even more challenging and rewarding, with MEFL leading the Moreland Solar Cities project, and the implementation of the Zero Carbon Moreland program which aims to take awareness of greenhouse initiatives to a whole new level in Moreland.

As part of the Board, I have been part of a team revising MEFL's strategy and planning for the next few years. Not surprisingly these plans and strategies are changing rapidly due to MEFL's growth and role as an advocate for change in the community.

We're also currently undertaking a major review of what we offer members, and ways that we can help you make a difference in creating an energy-smart community.

We've got the message from your recent responses to the Member Survey that you'd like to become more involved in MEFL activities and spread awareness of the need to change how we all choose to live our lives.

As a major priority in the next few months the MEFL Board will be looking at ways to increase the involvement of our members in our work, and enlist more supporters. Of course, the best way for that to happen is for you to spread the word about MEFL, and keep up to date with what's happening by becoming a member.

Application forms are available on the MEFL Site: click here

Spread the word, and I look forward to meeting you at the Annual General Meeting on 7th October, 7.30pm where the guest speaker will be Anita Roper, new CEO, Sustainability Victoria.
